Received a call from this number offering to extend the warranty on my washing machine. I have no warranty to extend. The caller new my name, address and obviously my telephone number. He did not know the make of the machine he was offering extend the warranty on but he did show an interest in my bank card details. After a few minutes playing him along I told him exactly how many minutes of his day he had wasted. How does someone who is obviously running a scam from South Asia do it from a number designated to Brighton? Surely our technical bods can prevent this.

Washing machine insurance scam.
Background noise during call screening, then hung up
Ignored it after reading comments on here
They were apparently a warranty service for my kitchen appliance but he had the name of the woman/family who lived at the address over 16,17ish years ago.
