I was trying my best to cut the call but he kept insisting that he will transfer me to the head office to make this payment even it is by instalments so that they can remove that charge against me.

By then I started doubting the call by not being genuinely from HMRC and I started questioning him about the reason why I was not being given notice officially by HMRC if I had underpaid my taxes.

Jordan asked for our FCO by name - when i asked for his name and what was the call in connection with he told me it was confidential. I said i would need more information he said he was from a legal accounts firm. Said i would take his number and pass message on. Ooops forgot to pass message on - shame
