Hello. I didn't know the number either, but called back. I was asked for name (stupidly gave first & last) then was provided with the representatives "ID" number (1869438). When I expressed reservations about the call, they guided me online to the "Tax Credits: General Enquiries" and they proceeded to call me from HMRC actual number "0345 300 XXX" showing on the page (stupidly answered and continued the call).
