Why? Some people use the same login for everything. With your name, number, email and password. They can then try any other account until success... Worst case scenario, is that password is identical to your apple icloud account. Then they can literally restore to the last back up a blank phone, receive all your emails, texts and essentially have your phone, your wallet, identity.
